5 Must-Have Newborn Baby Products | Product Guide

You might have seen an endless list of things that you need to buy for your newborn baby. We know that everything in that list seems necessary. But, believe me, you don’t want to be an over-prepared mom. Besides, your room might get messy and you would barely use most of the products you bought. So, here are 5 must-have newborn baby products.

Diapers for Newborns

Diapers are, of course, a must. You not only use them several times a day but you will need them in the coming years. So, remember to always keep your diapers in stock – newborns can go through 10 diapers a day.

From disposable diapers to cloth diapers, there are a variety of types and brands for you to choose. My advice is you should buy a few different diaper brands at first to see which one is suitable for your little one. Once you know your favorite diapers for your baby, you might consider to take advantage of bulk buying to cut down your spending.

Breast-feeding kit

Breastfeeding your baby is hard and awkward sometimes, especially for new moms. However, there are plenty of breast-feeding kits out there to make your life easier. Having a kit just for doing that will make your life simpler.

The most important part of the kit is the breast pump. They can collect your milk so your baby can be fed in your absence. Plus, breast pumps can manage your overabundant milk supply or even increase low milk supply.

If you plan to return to work, a good quality breast pump will be essential. A manual pump which operates by squeezing a lever with your hand is suitable for occasional pumping. On the other hand, if you are returning to work or you plan to do it on a regular basis then you might want to get an electric breast pump.

Baby Carrier

Using a carrier allows you to do your own thing and keep your hands free while your baby is relaxing close to you. Baby carriers come in three styles; Wraps, slings and soft structured carriers.

Wraps; A long and stretchy fabric you configure and tie around your body (usually over your shoulder and around your midsection). Slings; a wide piece of fabric and two rings. The fabric goes over your shoulder and across your torso. Soft structured carriers; It looks like a backpack with straps over your shoulder and padding for carrying your baby. You can place it on your chest or back. Each one has its own advantage. So, choose what you think will work the best for you and your baby.

Nasal aspirator

A nasal aspirator is used to clear your baby’s nasal passage. Whether a baby is sick, having allergies or a runny nose due to teething, baby’s noses are usually running. In order to make your baby feel better, you are going to have to do something to clear out their snot. And a nasal aspirator will help you with that problem. Most of them have suitable suction for babies so you don’t need to worry about it making your baby feel uncomfortable.

Burp Cloths

Honestly, I think you will want to have a burp cloth close to your baby 24/7 to help with the baby’s mess. This baby essential is so useful, it sticks with you even when you are not actually with your baby. Not only do burp cloths deal with spit-up, but you can use them to clean dribble, snot or whatever comes your way. Always stock up a few burp cloths and choose the one that can hold up well because you’re going to need to wash it everyday!
