Best Father’s Day Gifts for Kids and Moms to Make

Father's Day is just around the corner and you might be overwhelmed when it comes to buying gifts. No worry, you don’t need to spend hours thinking about it. Instead, have some time with your kids and make the best Father’s Day gift ever for your husband this year. Whether your husband likes sports, clothes or technology, receiving a gift that’s made from his own kids is always the best feeling in the world of being a dad. So, here are the best Father’s Day gifts for kids and moms to make.

Dad’s Snack Jar

You can make his movie or gaming experience more enjoyable by preparing all of his favorite snacks in a big jar. Remember to write his name on the label so everyone knows it’s only for him. However, if you have no idea what snack he likes the most or how to make it, use our basic recipe with just an assortment of nuts, dried fruit, and M&M.

Beer Bouquet

Most dads love to enjoy a cool beer every time they’re home. So, you can turn a basic six-pack fit for this special occasion by dressing each bottle with simple paper flowers or make it look like a bouquet. Since you know he really just wants a case of his favorite beer for Father's Day.

Your Child’s Handprints or Footprints

With just a few steps and some paint, you and your child can make this amazing gift for Father’s Day with ease. However, if you want to make it fancier, instead of paper, we suggest using a small plank and seal the paint with spray if needed. Dads will love displaying this precious artwork in their offices or bedrooms. And, their little children’s handprints and footprints will lock this lovely, fleeting phase of fatherhood in time forever. Also, it’s a good opportunity for you and your kids to be creative, paint, and have fun.

World's Greatest Dad Medal

What is better than telling how good your husband is of being a dad by giving him a medal. And, it's even more precious when it’s made by his own child. This is a quick and easy Father's Day gift that both the kids and dad will enjoy. All you need is some gold paint, ribbon and about 15 minutes.

We used a small wooden circle for the medal. But, you can use cardboard, construction paper, or whatever you have around. Just make sure it fits, not too short or long.

“I Love You This Much” Hand Cards

This one is definitely the easiest craft on this list for Father’s Day gifts! Starting with your kids trace their hands. And then, you help them cut a strip of paper and fold it in accordion style. Use markers to write "I Love You" on the outside, and "This Much" on the strip of paper. Add some stickers and you're done!

Tiny Little Hands Keychain

With this one, you will need shrinky plastic sheets, keyring and paint. Here’s one Father’s Day gift that both dad and kids will love. This gift is so perfect because the keychain can follow your husband everywhere and remind him about his lovely family. Moreover, your kids would love to watch their handprints magically shrink in the oven.

Father’s Day Scribble Mug

We know there are tons of gift mug tutorials on Pinterest. But, this idea is easy enough that even a 2-year-old could handle it with just a bit of help. And, the possibilities are endless with your mug’s design. First, clean your  ceramic mug. After it’s dried apply the papers or stickers you create to your design. Next, let your child start drawing whatever they want. Wait for it to dry, peel off the stickers to reveal the design. Finally, put your mug in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 30 mins.

Note: as for washing, you should only hand wash it to preserve the paint. Also after baking the colors will darken a little bit. So, keep that in mind when choosing your colors for the mug!

Daddy’s Car Wash Kit

To help your husband and kids enjoy car wash more, a special car wash kit to keep all of your husband's supplies together in one place seems like a perfect gift. This way he won’t have to waste time trying to find all the items that are “somewhere out there in the garage”! With just a small bucket, marker, and some stickers, your husband will be more motivated every time the car needs to be washed. And, because your kids help to make it, so they will want to join and use their creation more. Therefore, the car’s clean and your kids get to enjoy some quality time with their dad. A win-win for both!

Father’s Day Coupons

Homemade coupons are always a fun gift idea. You and your child can create a coupon booklet filled with great “deals” for dad such as 100% off a car wash from your kids or a free breakfast in bed from mom. You will see how happy your husband is every time he takes advantage of these coupons.

Plan an Adventure Day

For outdoor dads, an exciting adventure could be the most perfect gift! It is a good way to create priceless memories and show you and your kid’s love to them. Present your husband with an agenda of the day or keep it as a surprise. Start the day off with a ride to his favorite breakfast spot. As a midday activity, consider hiking, fishing, or a picnic. With nighttime, you can go see a movie together or maybe have a bonfire dinner.

No matter what gift you and your kid choose to make, we’re sure that your husband will love it. Also, if you can, make an extra one for your father too. Use this wonderful time to let the men in your family  know how important they are to everyone. On top of that, this is a good opportunity to strengthen your family bonds and most importantly have fun. Let us know about your husband's reaction when he receives the gift in the comments. And, happy Father’s Day!
